My Debt-Free Journey In A Nutshell!

I love reading stories about peopleโ€™s journeys. I love finding someone that I can relate to. It makes it feel like I am able to accomplish the same exact goal. So thatโ€™s my mission today. Iโ€™m going to quickly sum up my debt-free journey with the hopes of inspiring someone to start their journey.ย 

Debt Journey Timeline: 31 months. September 2017- May 2020. 

Total debt:$ 57,747

Type of debt: 2 credit cards (Victoria Secret and Discover)

1 car loan

A huge student loan (I consolidated my loans)

Here are a few fun facts about my debt free journey:

๐Ÿ“Œ I didn’t reach my original debt-free payoff date.  I wanted to pay my debt off in 2 years and when it didn’t happened, I became discouraged. Read all about that HERE. But I’m extremely grateful because a few months later I was able to accomplish a huge goal.

๐Ÿ“ŒMy favorite song during my debt-free journey was โ€Sallie Mae Backโ€ by @dee1music! That song inspired me to tackle 50k of student loan debt. Thanks, @dee1music! Watch the music video, guys!!

๐Ÿ“ŒChipotle was my go-to restaurant while I was paying off my debt!  If I wanted to be fancy, I went to The Cheesecake Factory.

๐Ÿ“ŒI had two side gigs during my debt-free journey. I coached middle school cheerleading during the school year and I worked in dietary at a local hospital in the summers.
